Located in her family's south-Ajax home, Julia's piano studio is a welcoming and relaxed place for students to come to. The studio mascots - Ti the big black cat and Dancer the springer spaniel, welcome students of all ages and, invariably, children who have arrived with a fear of dogs or cats have finished the year's lessons with a "see you in September" pat or hug for Ti and Dancer.
The studio is equipped with a midi centre and lots of music-learning software. Students usually play on "Mrs. Pugsley", the 1928 Heinzman grand piano (a wedding present in 1928 to the original owner from her father), but can also record performances on the studio's other keyboard instrument - a Yamaha Clavinova digital piano. Two other favourite studio "things" are the minitrampoline (for steady beat and co-ordination exercises) and the "ultra comfy chair of doom" papasan, a favourite napping spot for at least one parent/student sharing back-to-back lesson blocks with their child.

Practicing is NOT doing something over and over until you get it right.... Practicing IS doing something right over and over
